BEHIND THE LENS

A Vancouver born photographer widely respected for his creativity and easy-going style, Samuel has been a finalist in the world's richest and most prestigious photography competition, the Hamdan International Photography Awards.* His b&w portrait ("Serenity") advanced to the final round of judging against roughly 10,000 entries from over 150 countries. He was one of only two Canadian photographers to be selected for publication in HIPA's annual limited edition book.

 

Samuel's work was recently showcased at the LAB Art Show and he has been invited to show his photography at a RAW Artists event in 2015.

 

In addition, Samuel's work has also been published in the trade magazine Fashion Faces, Imposter Magazine, Ladies of Steampunk, and the cover of Merciless Beauty Magazine, among others. He was also engaged as the photographer for the Hands Against Racism campaign sponsored by MOSAIC, Spice Radio, and the Province Newspaper.

 

*In 2013 26,000 photographers from 156 countries contributed 38,000 photographs in four categories in pursuit of a total of $389,000 in prize money.
